She has her own private practice in Glendale, CA, teaches, and is a consultant for a number of private schools, where she regularly lectures and runs groups. Dr. Karayan believes that client relationships are built on the foundation of trust and understanding, and she provides her clients with a safe environment and the professional guidance they need to deal with their fears, pains, and anxieties. Dr. Karayan sees each client as unique, and she works with them to develop personalized strategies for confronting their fears and overcoming the hurdles on the way to happiness and contentment. Dr. Karayan is a certified bioenergetic therapist, and she utilizes bioenergretic techniques in her practice. She teaches her clients the relationship between their mind, body, and emotions, and believes that all three need to be addressed in their own language to create lasting change. Bioenergetic techniques help her clients live more fulfilling and less stressful lives. Dr. Karayan has been a long-time active participant in efforts to promote mental health in the community as well. Her involvement with the Armenian community extends to relief efforts following the 1989 Armenian earthquake and beyond. She has worked with severely mentally-ill patients at Glendale Adventist and Las Encinas hospitals, served as council member for the City of Pasadena for over four years, and is or has been an active member in numerous organizations such as CASPS (California Association for Students in Public Schools), the ARS (Armenian Relief Society), and the Western Prelacy Educational Council and Board of Regents.
Bioenergetic Therapists have met all of the licensing requirement as Mental Health Providers in their state of licensure. In addition, they have completed a rigorous four year post-graduate course of study in Bioenergetic Analysis. They are specifically trained to work with the relationship between the mind, emotions, and the body. Additional hours of supervision qualify a graduate for certification as a Bioenergetic Therapist (CBT).
